    "Follow Me"

Then he said to all, “If anyone  wishes to come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
                                                                                                           -
    Luke 9:23

Merciful God, this season of Lent
    has offered us an opportunity
to renew our faith in you.
Send your Holy Spirit upon us to slow us down.
Guide our path, to bring us to a place
    where your grace dwells.
Inspire us to give without counting the cost
that we may live a life overflowing
with your grace and so prepare
    ourselves for Easter joy.
    Through Christ our Lord.
                                          Amen.
    - Fr. Stan

The Paschal Mystery - In the early Church, Christians traveled to Jerusalem as a way of remembering events leading up to the resurrection of Jesus.  We experience Holy Week by remembering the Paschal Mystery —  the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus.

We invite you to enter more fully into the Paschal Mystery by following each day of Holy Week and meditating on the reflection questions.

    May you encounter our
Lord Jesus Christ this holy season.

Holy Oils - Three Holy Oils are used in the Catholic Church. Each year during Holy Week newly blessed oils are distributed to the individual churches. The oils are made from olive oil and balsam is added to the Holy Chrism oil to give it an aroma.

Oil of the Sick - used in the healing of the mind, body, and soul.
Oil of the Catechumens - used in anointing those preparing for baptism.
Holy Chrism - used for Baptism, to anoint those being confirmed, at the ordination of priests and bishops, and in the dedication of altars and churches.
